Vision and Values
Our vision is to be an authentic community of God lovers and people lovers who live out the message of Jesus and the Bible in such a real way that others would experience the love and mercy of Jesus. At High Rock, we believe that Jesus wants His church to be a place where you can be real - loved right where you are and confident of what you will become! Wear clothes that are comfortable, have a great cup of coffee, and meet new friends. While we don't want to take ourselves too seriously, we take God very seriously. He's real and He loves us. We want to worship Him, experience His mercy, and find His purpose for us as we apply the Bible to our lives and seek Him.
Our Values
Pursuing the Living God. We want to know God, worship Him, and follow Him passionately.
Following Jesus. Our intent is to believe Jesus' words, obey His commands, and do His works. We aim first to grow as authentic followers of Jesus ourselves and to then help others to follow Him.
The Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as our Helper and Counselor. We want to be responsive to the Holy Spirit's daily leading in our personal lives and in the church.
The Bible. We believe that the Bible is God's word to us. We want to build our relationship with Him by learning His words and applying them to our lives. It is our standard for what we believe and for what we do.
Prayer and Worship. We believe that prayer and worship are essential, because it is our primary means of maintaining our relationship with God. We love God and we want to be with Him.
People. All races, ages, styles, backgrounds... everyone! God loved us enough to send Jesus, so we also give love away to others. We want to live out this love consistently through caring for people.
Cultural Relevance. We want our music, atmosphere, language, and teaching style to be understandable and relevant to those around us.
Mercy and Compassion. We believe that mercy and compassion are the very things that God extended to us when He rescued us. Because of this, we believe we should extend mercy and compassion to others.
Integrity. We desire to be honest, open, and transparent in our relationships...speaking the truth in love and living a lifestyle that is consistent with our beliefs.
Generosity. Because God has been so generous with us, we want to be a generous community that passes along His kindness. We do this primarily through planting new churches and helping the poor.
Simplicity. We want to do what we do in a natural, low-key, no-hype way presenting the simple truth of Jesus and experiencing the reality of His presence.
