Helping those in need
We believe that part of our devotion to God includes helping those who are in need and less fortunate than ourselves. 1 John 3:17-18 says “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
At High Rock, we believe that every Christian should cultivate a heart of helping those who are in need. As we go through this life, our response should be “see a need, meet a need.”
In addition to the church living out their faith in this way, to help in our community, High Rock collects and donates food to those in need throughout Bloomington. Members at High Rock Church can pick up one of our designated bags, purchase the specific non-perishable items listed, and return the bag to High Rock. Once there, all donated food will be distributed to those most in need in our community. We have found this to be a practical way to remember those less fortunate than ourselves, and to help those who are in need in a relevant and impactful way. It is our hope that each member at Hills will grow and cultivate a heart of helping and loving those around them in our community.
