Why should I serve in the church? Simply put, the answer is: to become a Biblical Christian. Jesus Christ came to serve. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45). Serving is one of the fundamental ways to define the ministry of Jesus.
Our High Rock Series is the primary vehicle we have to help people in the process of serving. In the segment of the series titled “Serving,” we discuss how God has uniquely made us for His purposes, which includes using the abilities and spiritual gifts He has given us. Discovering what spiritual gifts are, and which ones we may have been given, proves to be very helpful in finding out how we can serve God and His people. You don’t necessarily have to take the High Rock Series in order to serve somewhere, but it is usually the most helpful way to get started.
Team High Rock is a monthly meeting for everyone who serves in any capacity at High Rock Church, and is an important commitment that accompanies serving. At Team High Rock we receive Bible teaching that’s relevant for what’s next and needed in the church. We also receive training for areas we serve in, as well as worship together, share in the Lord's Supper, and receive prayer. There are light snacks for adults and dinner for the kids, and there is always free childcare available for nursery through 5th grade. Team High Rock is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and is usually the first Sunday of the month. Check our Events Page for exact dates.
